about

This tune is a little bit of a departure for us but incorporates our usual rockabilly, country and blues influences with a little gospel and R&B. Penned by guitarist John Cormier, this tune is sure to get your feet tapping! Featuring the band and Mica Donnelly, Ray Harris, Jason Andersson and Sarah McClurg on the group vocals.

lyrics

(Including chords so you can play along)

(B)
Just a pickin and a grinnin by the side of the road
Gotta carry that weight or so I’ve been told

Stay where you at I’m on number nine
I’m a straight shooter babe comin down the line

I’d be plenty pleased with your company ***
But anyway you sum it up it always makes three

Tell me where you were when the lights went out
Tryin to make it look like it was never in doubt

Short Break (D E)

Baby baby baby you know I wish you would
It takes a whole lotta lovin to make me feel good

Bobby got it right and I don’t know why
It takes a lot to laugh, it takes a train to cry

Long Break
#1 (D E B - D E F#)

Baby baby baby don’t you know my name?
I’ll tell you once cuz there ain’t no shame

All I can think of is to wish you well
You think you’re doing great but you never can tell

Long Break
#2 (D E B - D E F# - drum half tempo)
Intro riff

Tell me where you goin cuz I know where you been
Your dress’ is on backwards you got that evil grin

Plenty people playing but the game is the same
It’s everybody’s fault but no one takes the blame

Long Break (D E B D E F#)

Vamp out on Oh glory....
